CDC Funding Opportunity: Create Courses for Public Health Professionals

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (91制片厂), in cooperation with the CDC, is pleased to announce a new call for proposals for a Workforce Improvement Project (WIP) titled Foundations of Population Health Science and Practice - Mini Course for Public Health Professionals. WIPs are non-research domestic or international projects with a workforce development component that are developed, funded, and managed by the Centers, Institutes, and Offices (CIOs) of the CDC. AACNmember schools of nursing with a program or track in population health are eligible and strongly encouraged to apply for this funding opportunity.

Health departments and community-based organizations that operate with public health central to their mission have unique needs, modalities, approaches, regulatory, and public policy contexts to inform their population health improvement efforts. Population health trainings/mini courses that specifically address the unique needs and goals of public health are not universally accessible. There is a need for training that provides high yield information that equips the public health workforce with foundational knowledge in population health science and best practices in population health.聽 The proposed WIP will contribute to the ongoing professional development of the public health workforce by increasing their foundational knowledge of population health science and the effective design, implementation, and evaluation of population health practice activities.聽 The project period for this award is approximately 2 years and is being funded for $100,000/year.聽

AACNis one of four academic partner organizations supported by the CDC through the Academic Partnerships to Improve Health (APIH) cooperative agreement, which means member schools of other collaborating organizations are also eligible for these competitive interprofessional funding opportunities.
