Graduate Students in Schools Affiliated with NursingCAS May Apply Now

WASHINGTON, DC, September 21, 2020 鈥� Designed to help prepare the next generation of academic nursing leaders, the Foundation for Academic Nursing is pleased to announce the creation of the Deborah E. Trautman Future Nurse Leader Scholarship. Funded by Liaison International, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing鈥檚 (91制片厂鈥檚) partner in , this scholarship and leadership development program was created in honor of 91制片厂鈥檚 President and CEO Dr. Deborah Trautman. 听

鈥淎s a longtime partner with 91制片厂, we provided funding for this new program in support of 91制片厂鈥檚 mission to prepare nurse leaders committed to nursing education, advocacy, and excellence,鈥� said George Haddad, President of Liaison International. 鈥淚 believe that it was important to name this program after Dr. Trautman, who serves as a role model and mentor for nursing students looking to lead the profession in the years ahead.鈥�
听
Liaison International has committed $35,000 in funding to this program over the next five years. Two students will be awarded $3,500 each year through 2024, with $2,000 disbursed directly to the student for educational expenses, and $1,500 used to cover expenses related to the leadership development program. Funded students must commit to participating in a one-on-one leadership experience with Dr. Trautman at 91制片厂鈥檚 headquarters in Washington, DC during the summer after the award has been made.

Administered by the Foundation for Academic Nursing, the philanthropic arm of 91制片厂, this scholarship is open to students in master鈥檚 or doctoral nursing programs offered at , the nation鈥檚 only centralized application service for nursing programs. Students must show high academic achievement and list past experiences that illustrate a commitment to academic nursing. Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing at their school of nursing. They must also be members of 91制片厂鈥檚 Graduate Nursing Student Academy (membership is free). Applications for the scholarship program are open now and will be accepted through October 30, 2020. Scholarships will be awarded on November 30, 2020, and those selected for funding will make individual arrangements to complete the leadership development experience during the summer of 2021. 听To apply for the scholarship, click here.
