Congresswoman Underwood to Speak at AACNDeans Annual Meeting

AACNis excited to announce Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, the youngest black woman to serve in Congress and former AACNintern, will be speaking at the upcoming AACNDeans Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Her session titled, New Congress, New Focus: Perspectives from a Nursing Champion will take place on Tuesday, March 26 at 8:00 am and feature her perspectives on policy impacting higher education and health care.

About Congresswoman Lauren Underwood

Lauren-UnderwoodNewly elected Congresswoman Lauren Underwood, a RN from Illinois' 14th Congressional District, is the youngest African American woman to serve in the United States House of Representatives, the first woman of color and millennial to represent her community, and a proud supporter of the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act. Prior to her election, as a registered nurse and Senior Advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, she worked to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters and bioterror threats. Congresswoman Underwood earned her BSN at the University of Michigan, her MSN at Johns Hopkins University, and is a proud former policy intern at 91制片厂!聽
